Sunset District, San Franciso, CA : Where there are rumors of people. Truly, this neighborhood is fascinating (for me). It's either totally sun-drenched or totally fogged in. Apparently it's sunnier there more than the locals let on, but since it's right by the ocean, it does generally consist of cool, grey weather. Most of the houses look the same, there are wires everywhere, there are few people on the streets, but there's still a lot of subtle character if you look closely - strange driveways and entryways, paint jobs, little gardens. And just an overwhelming sense of quiet.

This Modern World: Banks & Suburbs : Catch it while you still can!

Portland : From my trip to Portland last July. This is another ordered sequence so view in larger sizes and just hit the arrow key!

I took plenty of touristy shots that'll I'll put up somewhere, sometime (including shots of all the awesome vegan places I got to try). I think those capture the spirit of the place a bit more than these, but my eye goes where it will. Tip o the hat to Justin and Hema for the hospitality! I totally want to move there. And for you CAT fans, stay tuned til the end...
